I think of Joanna Tam‘s work as interrogating systems.  As pure a researcher as the Art World has ever seen, Joanna brings a careful, calculated consideration to subjects such as personalizing data (107,594) and studying her own place within US culture  (I’m American,  Reduction Study). Would you expect much less from an artist who originally studied to be a computer scientist? Joanna’s work has been making the rounds both here in Boston (Khaki Gallery, Villa Victoria) and around the country (Galveston Artist Residency with TLB alum JoeJoe Orangias).
